When it comes to Christmas time, we usually spend it at home and Jamie, my Brother, comes down to us and sometimes Hannah (his partner). The last time I spent Christmas away from home was when I was one and we went to America to spend it with our family over there. So it was lovely to be invited to spend Christmas in Manchester with Jamie and Hannah. We set off on Christmas Eve at 7am and arrived in Manchester just before 11am.

We spent Christmas Eve relaxing after an early morning and a long drive. When it come to the night of Christmas Eve, Hannah passed us all a box, mine read 'Sophie's Christmas Eve Box'. I couldn't contain my excitement, this is when my Christmas spirit level went up to 100. I didn't feel very festive as I finished uni on the 22nd and I had been stressed trying to get my work done before Christmas so I didn't have to do it over the Christmas period. So this lovely gesture from Hannah was just what I needed. Inside the box was a pair of cosy pyjamas, a pick 'n' mix sweet box, nail varnish, hair bands, a lush bomb, a 'snowman soup' pack which makes a yummy hot chocolate and a face mask! It felt like Christmas Day!

Jamie and Hannah made their first Christmas dinner together and it's safe to say it turned out beautiful. They did such an amazing job. They even got us a yummy Norfolk Black Turkey! They always spoil us so much.

I love walks in nature, there is something so calming about them. We went to Anglezarke Reservoir for a walk and I may have had a little too much fun on the rope swing. It was at the top of a hill and surrounded by the orange leaves on the floor.

I had never been to a Vue cinema before, so my first trip to the one in Manchester was rather exciting! We went to watch the new Rogue One Star Wars movie (which was brilliant) and we grabbed our free popcorn and put up our feet on the recliner leather chairs! There was only the 5 of us and two other people in there! I felt right at home.

Oh my god. Tops. The most amazing all you can eat buffet I have EVER been to. There were a variety of world cuisines to choose from and it is only £15 per person (not including drinks). I ate way too much.. 4 plates and 1 plate of dessert.. but I couldn't stop, it was delicious. I highly recommend it.

After a fun few days with my family in Manchester it was time to head back home to Suffolk. Jamie and Hannah cooked us a Turkey and Leek Pie (which is a Christmas tradition in our household) for lunch before we headed off, again they did an amazing job.

With our stomachs full of pie, we set off on the road at 2pm and we didn't get home until nearly 8pm. The drive wasn't as smooth back as it was up to Manchester, the traffic was unreal and it was so foggy. However, I had a wonderful Christmas in Manchester with my family, we ate lots of food, drank wine, had many laughs, explored and more.

Lot's of love, Soph x
